Future Leaders
The YWCA Future Leaders Programme aims to develop and support
passionate young women to become leaders and role models in their
communities.
YWCA Future Leaders is a
free, four year, mentoring programme that works with young women
aged 14-18 years. Since it began in 2002, Future Leaders has
mentored over 225 young women from 16 schools. These students
represent over 20 ethnicities.

brochure.
This is the only mentoring programme in
New Zealand which focuses solely on young women in a long-term
intervention.
To develop leadership skills we provide
workshops, activities, camps and leadership opportunities - all
designed to support key developmental stages.
Each student is matched with a mentor
who supports and encourages her. All participants are regularly
assessed and both students and mentors are supported by Future
Leaders Programme staff.
